Ceremonial Duties

The Guards are recognised worldwide for their unique ceremonial role, alongside being fully-trained infantry soldiers. It is no wonder, given that these duties bring them into the spotlight during some of the nations most memorable and historic events.

There are two types of ceremonial duty:

Public Duties are everyday guarding duties undertaken at the Royal Palaces and other locations.

State Ceremonial are the marvellous parades involving the Monarch, including the annual Trooping the Colour, Funerals, Coronations, State Opening of Parliament, Remembrance Day at the Cenotaph and State Visits.
