Toilets

The museum has no toilet facilities on-site.

The nearest public toilets are in St James’s Park. They are about a 10 minute walk way.

To locate these toilets from the museum, exit onto Birdcage Walk and turn right. At the traffic lights, cross the road into the park and follow the foot path over the bridge. Keep going straight on and you will find public toilets on the left. Royal Parks make a charge for use of these toilets.

The nearest Changing Places Toilet is located at London Victoria Station, approximately 15 minutes away.

The museum is not able to offer baby change or private breast feeding facilities.

Step-Free Access

Chapel Square is accessible via a ramp from street level.

The Museum has step-free access via a staff operated lift. This is located in the rear right-hand corner of Chapel Square. Press the blue buzzer to request a member of staff, who will open up the lift.

Once inside, the museum galleries are all on one level with no stairs. The admissions desk and shop are only accessible by a short set of steps. However, payment terminals and shop products can be brought down to gallery level, and staff will be happy to assist you.

Seating

There are a number of chairs around the galleries, please feel free to use them.

Blind and Visually Impaired

We also offer audio guides free of charge with your admission, in a hand held device. These can be used at touch points throughout the museum, to hear stories and insights from across 380 years of history.
