With over 1000 objects on display and 4 centuries of history to uncover, you could spend all day in the museum. However, most visitors will spend on average 1 hour exploring our galleries.

Optional Extra

Try on genuine Guards uniforms – the iconic scarlet tunic and bearskin cap – for a photo opportunity in the museum. Available in a variety of sizes from child to adult, and uniforms are adjustable at the back.

Facilities

Step-free Access 

The museum is located down several sets of stairs. There is a staff-operated lift available for all museum visitors to use, including those with buggies. Find out more here.


Buggy Park

Unfortunately, there are no buggy park facilities at the museum. All items, including bags, buggies, and coats, will need to be kept with you for the duration of your visit.


Toilets 

There are no toilet facilities on-site. The nearest public toilets are in St James Park, opposite the museum. Find out more here.


Baby Changing & Breastfeeding 

The museum is not able to offer baby change or private breast feeding facilities.
