Welcome Volunteers
You will be joining a fantastic team of friendly individuals, offering the first welcome for visitors. You are at the front line of our daily operations, being on hand to answer questions, take admissions and shop payments, and restock any missing shop lines.
You will have the opportunity to learn about our wonderful collection, though full training is provided in all aspects of the role. No prior experience necessary!
This role will be suited for those looking to gain experience in customer service, exposure to the day-to-day running of museum operations, or those who simply love talking to people and hearing their stories!
Tour Guide Volunteers
We offer a number of different tours and programmes. We are looking to expand our team of tour guides who are confident in delivering experiences to a range of audiences.
Training and assistance will be provided, and you must be committed to upholding our values and core messages while working with the public.
This role will be suited to enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with people, offering the opportunity to learn about our collection and history.
Social Media Volunteers
Social Media Volunteers will assist with the curation of content to develop our online presence. Our aims are to maximise engagement, expand our reach, and share meaningful content that engages with our collection, history, and audience.

This role would be suited to someone with interest or experience in digital marketing, and creative thinkers looking to develop their content creation skills.
Learning Volunteers
In this role, you will work on building and delivering a learning programme for visitors, families, schools, and special interest groups who visit the museum. This will include both formal (i.e. taught sessions) and informal learning, working closely with the school national curriculum.
You will create and develop educational resources to be used across these groups, and liaise with local groups who may benefit from our educational offer.
This role will be suited to creative individuals with an interest in museum learning. You may have prior experience in an educational setting, or be looking to build your portfolio in this field.
